Rain!?!? Yes, it was miserably wet today. So… we decided the only thing to do was pick an indoor activity: a museum. The Pompidou Center (named after the excellent former French president) has a metric ton of cool modern art, so that’s where we went. It was “interesting” trying to juggle a stroller and an umbrella, but a little water never hurt anybody. When we got there, the first thing that caught Anna’s eye was a piece (“Chrysalis”) in a temporary exhibit of computer-related art, so that’s what we started with. Chrysalis was designed on a computer and then built out of paper, and they had several 3D-printed pieces and other stuff too. Neat.
Then we wandered upstairs to the permanent collection. It’s modern art, so (predictably) some of it just doesn’t resonate. But there was a mushroom that Anna liked, a painting by Huber that I liked because it reminded me of Magritte, and a bunch of other great stuff. All-in-all, a good way to stay dry.
