The weather finally got better, yay!! Sort of better anyway, it stopped raining which is definitely a step in the right direction. We headed toward the Louvre (in a cycle rickshaw, fun!), where the crowds didn’t seem nearly as bad as we had expected. Then we figured out why the crowds were so light: the museum is closed on Tuesdays. D’oh.
So, we explored the adjacent Tuileries Garden, past the Luxor Obelisk, and down Champs Elysées where we did some window shopping (the French call it “window licking”, I like that). I saw a Citroën showroom with a sweet convertible presidential limo they made in 1970 for George Pompidou. Anca found a cosmetics store, but their products were too pricey. And Anna slept.
Then we got to the Arc De Triomphe. Talk about some awe-inspiring! The girls didn’t want to climb up to the top, so I went by myself. Nice views.
At that point we were feeling a bit used-up, so we strolled back home along Seine and took in the views. What a beautiful city.
